Our story

My name is Matthieu. Before UniversBags, I spent fourteen years in retail, particularly in home furnishings.

Through this experience and training in products and materials, including leather, I learned to examine finishes, understand the differences between materials and listen to what people expect from their purchases.

Photography and video are also part of my background. I value images that help explain a product: its shape, details, size and how it is carried.

With UniversBags, I bring these interests together in a shop I run personally, from selecting models to supporting customers.

A bag may catch your eye. To fit into your daily life, its dimensions, storage and carrying options also need to suit you.

I consider the stated material, finishes, closure, interior organisation and possible uses. Available information is compared and suppliers are asked for clarification when details remain unclear.

I have also ordered and personally examined several models in the collection. This experience complements the information gathered from suppliers.

Each product page describes the characteristics of that particular model.

Information that has not been sufficiently confirmed should not become a promise.

UniversBags is a French sole proprietorship. Our suppliers are based in China, as is our logistics partner’s warehouse.

Items pass through this warehouse before being shipped to your delivery country. UniversBags remains your point of contact for product questions, order tracking and after-sales support.

In November 2024, our very first order arrived in poor condition. The customer was refunded, and this experience led us to review our shipping arrangements.

The model, colour, visible condition and finishes are checked at the warehouse, down to the small details.

When an issue is spotted, I am notified so I can decide what to do next. A superficial mark, such as a small trace of glue, may be cleaned on site if this does not alter the product.

If the defect cannot be corrected without damaging the bag or leaving a mark, the item is returned to the supplier for replacement.

The aim is straightforward: to resolve any issues detected before the parcel is sent to you.

After your purchase, we remain available to track your parcel, answer questions and handle return requests. If a problem arises, contact us so we can look into it and help resolve it.
